How does SmartLetters work?

We use a combination of publicly available information and licenced services to identify residents who are moving into your target suburb every month. Our local area marketing software lets you target these new residents with relevant offers to generate loyal long term customers.
You simply select the target area for your business, upload your A4 flyer, we then print this, fold it, insert it in a stamped envelope and send it via Australia Post to the letterbox of your new neighbour welcoming them to the neighbourhood.

What do I need to get started?

You're welcoming people to the neighbourhood so we need to make sure you make a good impression, but let’s not overcomplicate things.
A single sided A4 Flyer with an enticing offer is all you need to get started. If you’ve got a promotion ready to upload that’s great, if you don’t we can help with a design service for $99.

Is there a minimum spend or commitment?

Our service is designed to help small businesses gain new loyal customers in their neighbourhood. With this in mind we’ve kept the minimum monthly spend at $200 per order. This gets you a minimum distribution of 40 letters directly into the letterboxes of your newest customers.

Do you charge monthly fees?

There is no sign up or membership fee for Smart Letters. Your business will only be charged for the number of letters to new neighbours that you choose to send each month.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. Simply log into your account and disable the campaigns you want to pause. The system works live and will ignore your campaign until you enable it again. Of course you can also call or email us. If you want advice, help or to discuss your account or campaigns we'd love to hear from you.

When should I use your service?

Australians are constantly on the move. New residents are moving into your neighbourhood every month – and this means that others are also leaving your neighbourhood. The opportunity to replace and gain new customers is always present with Smart Letters. Our most successful businesses use our service on a recurring monthly basis. There are few businesses that don't need new customers on a regular basis.

Can I advertise multiple locations from the same account?

Yes. You can manage your own campaigns from within your account. There is no limit on the number of campaigns you can run, each campaign also uses it's own artwork to further target your advertising. You can select different residential areas and market different messages to each area if you wish. Businesses with multiple locations find this especially useful, allowing them to provide different offers to different locations where appropriate.

Why should I market in my local area?

Customers are often loyal to their local businesses. Every month new customers move into your neighbourhood and start their search for their new "local" or new "favourite". Once the stress of moving is over the excitement of exploring and discovering a new neighbourhood takes place. In Australia new residents remain in their new home for around 6 years. Gaining a new customer early can pay off for years to come.

What can I post?

Our standard service offering is for an A4 Single Sided Flyer printed on 80gsm matt paper. We fold this to fit into a standard size envelope. If you would like to discuss the delivery of other items please give us a call.
